Tax Notice: Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes Due November 2
The County of Botetourt reminds residents that the payment deadline for 2026 real estate and personal property taxes is Monday, November 2, 2026.
Tax bills have been mailed insofar as possible. However, taxpayers are responsible for ensuring their taxes are paid on time. Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve taxpayers of any penalties or interest that may accrue under the law for late or nonpayment.
To avoid penalties, payments must be postmarked or received by the Botetourt County Treasurer’s Office on or before November 2, 2026.
Payment Options
For residents’ convenience, tax payments may be made through the following options:
Online: Visit www.botetourtva.gov, select “Make a Payment,” then “Payment Methods” and “Taxes” to access the online payment option.
In person: Payments may also be made at Botetourt County branches of Bank of Botetourt and First Bank.
Treasurer’s Office: Payments may be received by the Botetourt County Treasurer’s Office by the November 2 deadline.
Residents are encouraged to review available payment methods and make arrangements to ensure their payments are submitted by the due date.
